 There is a growing range of chemical-free, plant-based cleaning, bodycare and pest control products on the market, but it's also cheap and easy to create your own with simple ingredients and tried-and-tested formulas.
- Basics: bicarb of soda, washing soda crystals, pure soap, borax, white vinegar, lemon, salt, aloe vera.
- Optional: eucalyptus oil, tea-tree oil, lavender oil, olive oil, linseed oil, peppermint oil.
- Equipment: microfibre cloths; a plant-misting water bottle for sprays.
Mixtures needn't be precise. A vinegar/water spray should be about 50:50.
